👷♂️ Position: Lifting Engineer
The ideal candidate will be a graduate-qualified professional with extensive hands-on experience in lifting operations, specifically in the Oil & Gas field. You must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including exposure to critical lifting, compliance with safety protocols, and managing high-risk lifting activities.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
As a Lifting Engineer, you will:
- Prepare and review Lifting Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for all lifting activities.
- Ensure compliance with international safety standards, site procedures, and client requirements.
- Provide technical guidance during heavy and critical lifting operations.
- Coordinate with Rigging Supervisors, Crane Operators, and Safety Officers.
- Verify and approve lifting equipment certifications (cranes, slings, shackles, etc.).
- Attend site inspections and resolve any lifting-related issues proactively.
- Collaborate with construction, HSE, and project teams to ensure lifting tasks are executed safely and efficiently.
- Evaluate the complexity of lifts and prepare documentation for critical lifts involving heavy loads or challenging environments.
- Conduct toolbox talks and train site personnel on lifting safety and procedures.
- Ensure all lifting operations are properly supervised and carried out using certified equipment and qualified riggers.
🎓 Qualifications & Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
✅ Graduate Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline.
✅ Minimum 10 years of experience in Lifting Operations within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical sector.
✅ Proven track record in critical and heavy lifting procedures.
✅ Valid international and third-party certifications for lifting (such as LOLER, LEEA, or equivalent).
✅ Thorough knowledge of lifting equipment, cranes, slings, shackles, and load calculations.
✅ Strong understanding of Qatar Energy, Shell, or major Oil & Gas project lifting regulations.
✅ Excellent communication and coordination skills.
✅ Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural work environment.
✅ Immediate availability preferred.
🛠 Preferred Certifications (Any of the following):
- LEEA Certified Lifting Engineer
- CPCS Competent Lifting Supervisor/Engineer
- AP (Appointed Person) for Lifting Operations
- Rigging & Slinging Certification
- International Safety Certification (NEBOSH/IOSH – preferred but not mandatory)
